Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership Trust

Tascor working in partnership with Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership Trust provide fully trained Driver Escorts and suitably adapted vehicles, to agreed timescales for 8,000 patient movements each year.

The Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP Trust) is one of the largest of its kind in the country, with more than 4,000 staff providing care for around 23,000 people. Working closely with their partner agencies, they deliver the highest quality specialist care.

AWP’s dedication to providing the best possible service was being compromised by running two separate transportation contracts; one for day care patients and one for people detained under the Mental Health Act. In discussions with AWP, Tascor understood the need to combine the two services and were able to develop an integrated solution to meet both requirements, managed through a single operations centre available 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

With a dedicated and fully trained team who deliver genuine customer care Tascor Services Limited provide more than a simple door to door service. Day care service users are collected by the same Driver Escorts for every session to assist in developing relationships, and relaxing the service user with the continuity of our drivers. This can greatly assist lowering service user anxiety levels.

Patients who require secure transport after detention under the Mental Health Act are escorted by Tascor staff who are highly trained to use specialised communication and dynamic security techniques to ensure the safety of service users and greatly reduce stress for the patient.

The Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership Trust now has a secure, cost effective and patient centred solution for patient transport and detained service users across the two counties.
